What is OCD?

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, also known as OCD, is a common anxiety disorder that is made up of unreasonable, disturbing, and distressing thoughts or images.
When you have these thoughts, you pair them with compulsions, which will relieve your anxiety for a moment but doesn’t ever actually get rid of it fully.
How common is OCD?

1 out of every 100 adults in the United States suffer from OCD.
It is common for these adults to go at least 13 years before they are diagnosed. This can be because of the shame, guilt, and disgust that such thoughts makes a person feel about themself, which leaves them to avoid seeking help.
What does it feel like to have OCD?
